Great pizza al fresco on a tiny piazza in Siracusa

You don't really come for the food—which isn't half bad—or the prices, which are slightly over-blown.

You come to "The Last Supper" for the relaxed outdoor setting under dwarf palms in a pocket of a piazza hidden at the very heart of Ortigia.

You also get the fun theological exercise of matching the pizzas' biblical names with their toppings (the "Lazarus" comes with the mushrooms of decay, "Judas" with the sting of hot peppers, etc.).

They also offer the standard array of Sicilian dishes like spaghetti alla bolognese or ai ricci di mare, zuppa di cozze e vongole verace, bistecca alla pizzaiola (steak covered in pizza sauce and mozzarella), but encourage you to "discover the pleasure of variety" by calling ahead and ordering something special like paella valenciana (a Spanish rice dish rich with seafood) or couscous (with carne/meat or pesce/fish).
