Da Gelsomina

Lunch with a fantastic sea view on the island of Capri

A long, but scenic, 20-minute walk from Anacapri brings you to this countryside hideaway of delicious food and sweeping vistas. You can dine on the shaded terrace or inside against the picture windows, where the view skips across vineyards and pines to the sea and Ischia in the distance.

The classic ravioli alla caprese are stuffed fat with ricotta and gooey mozzarella, and the delicate cannelloni are thin sheets of homemade pasta wrapped around a blend of ricotta and meat, smothered in tomato sauce and parmigiano then baked 'till the ends are crispy.

For secondo try the mixed seafood fry frittura di pesce (featuring squid, octopus, and shrimp) or veal scaloppini prepared however you'd like (but as this is Capri, make it a summery al limone). The ingredients are fresh—many of them homegrown—and their own label house white is perfect for lunch.

To ensure your table has a view, reserve ahead.

They also now run a B&B of simple, clean, moderately-priced rooms with, of course, killer views.
