The minimalist decor lit by soft sconces and the light touch on Tuscan dishes attracts an international crowd to this subdued restaurant.
The crostini di petto d'oca (toast rounds with a duck breast pate) make a delicious antipasto, and you can follow it up equally well with risotto ai carciofi (rice with asparagus) or tortellini panna e prosciutto (plump meat-stuffed pasta and chunks of ham in a cream sauce with chopped basil).
The filetto di vitellone all'aceto basalmico (young beef steak cooked in basalmic vinegar) is, it must be said, a cut above the peoposo all'Impruneta, a soupy peppersteak stew—the health-concious may be surprised by the ribbons of fat, but it's a good traditional dish.
Service here can sometimes be slow and off, but they remain friendly.
