It's across the street from famous Hotel Le Sirenuse, with twice the view at 1/4 the price. The large, square rooms are quiet, even though just above the bus-infested coastal road.
Nos. 8–11 have large terraces shaded by vine-strewn arbors that look over the postcard shot of Positano's main village spur and bits of the harbor and sea.
The mattresses are orthopedic, tile floors painted prettily, furnishings peasant style, and baths decidedly modest.
All rooms have sea views and high vaulted ceilings (no. 11 even has frescoes). No. 13 has two rooms to sleep a family of four.
This former affittacamere (rental room operation) began its transformation into a delightful—albeit simple—hotel in 1995. Bonus: Breakfast is served on your own terrace.
Note that, while there's no official minimum stay, if you try to book this hotel for just one night the booking engine will tell you it is unavailable. This is not actually always the case. Plug in two or more nights and suddenly there are usually several rooms available. (If you want to stay just one night, call the hotel directly—and be prepared to pay a bit more than the online price.)
