An open-air music festival in the gardens of Ravello
The coastline far below serves as a backdrop for the stage at this summer series of open-air performances in the gardens of the Villa Rufolo.
Each year features a theme that loosely informs the orchestral concerts (mostly symphonies and chamber orchestras), dance, movies, and conferences of the festival.
Wagner—whose Parsifal was inspired by these gardens—always features prominently.
Festival dates vary yearly but are at least July though August, sometimes bleeding all the way forward to May or into October.
