Cooking has been Costanzas passion since she was a child watching her parents cook wonderful meals for family and friends. They would host large food gatherings and she often relates being with her parents to cooking for other people. Her love for cooking grew because her grandmothers were amazing cooks and she always loved to eat! She says that hosting travelers has special meaning to her because it makes her feel like she is traveling the world! On days that Costanza is busy, her equally wonderful sister Serena will be your host.
Please note that because Costanza sometimes has guests staying in their B&B they may be present during your meal but your cooking experience will remain private.

Quality is our objective right from the start of the production process, based on the following simple rules:
• rigorous selection of the young plants
• optimum planting distances to allow balanced growth of aerial parts
• a succession of regular transplants. Planting distances increase every time - by the fourth transplant, distances are 2.5 mt. along rows and the same between rows.
• Judicious fertilising and disease treatment, to avoid altering the microbial activity of the soil
• Mechanical soil tilling to avoid over-irrigation, but encourage the formation of lots of secondary roots on the root system
• Pruning for shape in wintertime and pruning back in summer
• Constant monitoring of our plants' state of health and rigorous prevention of disease, in order to avoid recourse to treatments based on chemical products, while guaranteeing at the same time an optimum state of health.
Pot-grown plants:
Our company growth owes much to the quality and range of our pot-grown plants that are today a point of reference for plant nurserymen all over Europe. Huge investments have been necessary, but the outcome has been successful. Pot-grown plants are indispensable to garden centres because they guarantee planting success, are easily handled and can be sold all year round.
Topiary Art
Horses and dolphins, elephants and flamingos, swans and giraffes, plus aeroplanes, boats and carriages, not to mention towers, fountains and musical instruments or just simply, little trees with rounded crowns, spheres, cones and pyramids.
Giant Garden Bonsai
These are the VIPs of topiary! It is worth exploring their origins, even if only to explain how their relatively high prices are more than justified by the years and years of work they involve. So let us take an imaginary journey to Japan, whose landscape offers a fascinating spectacle of century-old trees, formed into strange and original shapes - twisted, flattened, layer upon layer. These specimens, so wonderfully modelled by wind and weather, inspired Japanese gardeners right from ancient times to "cloud-clip" those conifers and shrubs which were most suitable because of their foliage, wood, branch system and ability to withstand pruning.

Stop At: Florence Tours by Made of Tuscany, Florence, Tuscany
Pitti Palace and Boboli garden
Duration: 3 hours
Gardens, with their shady trees, fragrant flowers, and peaceful lanes, have always served as a counterpoint to the narrow, crowded streets of Florence's city center. During the Renaissance, a new form of garden-design came to the fore, heavily influenced by classical models from Roman villas. Florence, and its surrounding area, is a garden-enthusiast's paradise, boasting numerous Renaissance-style gardens, along with examples of 16th-century and English-style designs. This three hour Florence secret garden tour, led by a trained horticulturalist and garden designer, takes a look at Florence's two most stunning gardens—the Boboli Gardens, known to many, and Giardino Torrigiani, known to few. Florence Secret Garden Tour We will begin our walk in the Boboli Gardens, which cover the hillside behind the Pitti Palace (which we also explore on our Pitti Palace Tour)—a suitably grandiose complement to the expanding ambition of its Medici owners during the 16th and 17th century. The gardens developed from agricultural origins to the setting for dynastic marriage celebrations, with a formal network of grand avenues, vistas framed by Classical and Baroque statuary, dark bosquets and hidden lawns. Recent restorations have emphasized the masterpieces of architecture within Boboli, including the Mannerist Grotta Grande, built to house Michelangelo's famous Atlas figures, and the delightful Rococo structures of the Limonaia and the Kaffeehouse. Within the vast gardens are several “secret gardens,” housing precious botanical collections, proving not only the enlightened scientific patronage of the Medici and Lorraine rulers, but the passage of skills through generations of gardeners. An Exotic Experience Hidden behind a set of high walls in the same neighborhood of the Oltrarno (where our Florence Artisan Workshop Tour takes place) is the Torrigiani Garden, the largest private garden within city walls in Italy, which we will visit by special request. Originally planted by the founder of the Italian Botanical Society—the world's oldest—the garden still has an uncommonly wide variety of trees, especially exotic species, in keeping with its 19th century “English Landscape” style. Giardino Torrigiani has an intriguing air of mystery, as it is laid out as an initiation path with secret Masonic symbolism, and includes Gothic follies and the recurring theme of research and enquiry. There is no secret, however, in the dedication to the art and sciences, which are still the owners' guiding principles, as the Torrigiani Garden encloses a successful commercial nursery and regularly hosts lectures on the arts and gardening. Refreshments will be offered on the lawn, in the shade of a pomegranate tree.
Our Tour is perfect for families with kids who decide to explore the city in a different way. Through the gardens of the city, our kid friendly tour guide will present you with another perspective of Florence.
Such an idyllic atmosphere will enchant and relax the whole family!
Recommended in spring for the beautiful flowering of the wisteria tunnel, the tour is feasible in the other months of the year thanks to the breathtaking views of Florence.

Since 1938 this Tuscan family company has interpreted the cultivation of plants as a motive for constantly improving the environment.
Cultivating a plant means actively protecting a vulnerable living thing and, by preserving it from extinction, handing down a richer world to future generations. "More plants, more life" is not just a slogan. It's a mission.

• Time to visit the famous Chianti Wine RegionField-grown plants:

The Brancacci Chapel in the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine is a landmark in the history of Renaissance art. Commissioned by a wealthy Florentine silk merchant in the 1420s, the chapel was painted with frescoes by Masaccio and Masolino depicting the life of St. Peter and the theme of redemption. In later years, the chapel suffered at the hands of the Florentine government when its patron, Felice Brancacci, was exiled and declared an enemy of the state.
The Damnatio Memoriae was executed, and the faces of the chapel's patrons were destroyed, only to be restored by Filippino Lippi fifty years later. A disastrous fire in the late 1700's blackened the frescoes until they could hardly be seen; they were restored in 1981-90. Masaccio's works, including the painfully expressive Expulsion from the Garden of Eden, have inspired the great artists of the High Renaissance, including Michelangelo.
Your visit not only includes a chance to view these famous frescoes, but your own personal tablet to explain their history and restoration. Please note that on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays, the entrance ticket to the Brancacci Chapel also allows entrance to the Fondazione Salvatore Romano which is located in Piazza Santo Spirito, a few blocks from the chapel.
Enter the Brancacci Chapel in the historic heart of Florence, and discover the series of paintings and frescoes of the "Sistine Chapel of the early Renaissance."
The legendary chapel is located inside the Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, built in the 13th century as part of a Carmelite convent, and given a major overhaul in the 16th century to bring it into line with the precepts of the Council of Trent. A devastating fire in 1771 destroyed much of the interior of the church and most of its furnishings.
The Brancacci Chapel survived and still stands as a showcase of ecclesiastical art. The extraordinary cycle of paintings tell fabled religious narratives, such as "The Expulsion from the Garden of Eden" and "St. Peter Healing the Sick with His Shadow."

* You can use this formula for all Italian ten-place numbers—so 31 is trent'uno, 32 is trenta due, 33 is trenta tre, etc. Note that—like uno (one), otto (eight) also starts with a vowel—all "-8" numbers are also abbreviated (vent'otto, trent'otto, etc.).
