After a brief transfer of about 45 minutes we arrive right in front of the ancient San Giovanni Gate from where we follow the road which leads to the center of the old town. Of the original 75 there are still 16 standing and these are more than sufficient to to give San Gimignano a skyline like an ultramodern metropolis.

Pick up from your accomodation at 8.00am. We'll reach the beginning of the path ( about 9:00am) in the west side. The hike will during from 6 to 8 hours. During our hike the type of route will be on the path, off the trail and all on volcanic soil. Hiking shoes are recommended (in alternative confortable shoes). This excursion goess through the paths of the west side of Etna, the less civilized

and the most suitable area for those who have a great desire to walk! Crossing the forest we will reach the area of the last lateral eruption that, in 1974, created the lateral craters called Monti De Fiore. From there it will be possible to appreciate the volcanic landscapes that

Etna gives, with the various other side cones of different eras and lava flows that, in the course of history, have become "wide" in the woods, painting a unique setting where the dynamism of the volcano shows itself with all its irrepressible charm.

We will continue with the visit of lava caves and monumental trees, escaped for centuries from the blind fury of the volcanic activities.
